# AU Agent Utilities Reliable Australian utility tools for AI agents and applications. AU Agent Utilities is a growing collection of deterministic, Australia-specific tools designed to give AI agents reliable answers for calculations and data that are easy to get wrong with generic reasoning alone. ## Current Release **Business Day Engine v1.2.0** The current release provides Australian business-day, public-holiday, date-range and deadline calculations across all states and territories. ## Live MCP Endpoint ```text https://au-business-day.auagentutilities.workers.dev/mcp ``` ## Available Tools ### `check_australian_business_day` Checks whether a date is a business day in an Australian state or territory. Returns: - whether the date is a business day - weekend or public-holiday reason - holiday name where applicable - previous business day - next business day Example: ```text Date: 2021-12-27 State: NSW ``` Result: ```text Business day: false Reason: public_holiday Holiday: Christmas Day (substitute day) Next business day: 2021-12-29 ``` --- ### `calculate_australian_business_date` Adds or subtracts Australian business days from a starting date. Positive numbers move forward and negative numbers move backward. The start date is excluded by default. Example: ```text Start date: 2021-12-24 State: NSW Business days: 1 ``` Result: ```text 2021-12-29 ``` The calculation skips weekends and applicable public holidays, including substitute public holidays. --- ### `count_australian_business_days` Counts business days between two Australian calendar dates. Boundary inclusion is explicit so agents do not have to guess whether the start or end date should be counted. The result can include: - business days - non-business days - weekend days - public-holiday weekdays - holidays encountered Example: ```text Start date: 2021-12-24 End date: 2021-12-29 State: NSW Include start: false Include end: true ``` Result: ```text Business days: 1 ``` --- ### `calculate_australian_deadline` Calculates an Australian deadline using either calendar days or business days. Supports explicit rules for: - whether the start date is counted - rolling a non-business deadline forward - rolling a non-business deadline backward - leaving the calculated date unchanged Example: ```text Start date: 2021-12-20 State: NSW Days: 7 Day type: calendar Include start: false Roll: next ``` The unadjusted deadline is: ```text 2021-12-27 ``` Because that date is a substitute public holiday, the final deadline becomes: ```text 2021-12-29 ``` ## Supported Jurisdictions - ACT - NSW - NT - QLD - SA - TAS - VIC - WA ## Holiday Handling The engine accounts for: - Saturdays - Sundays - state and territory public holidays - substitute public holidays where represented in the installed holiday dataset Public-holiday information is provided using the `date-holidays` dataset. Local, regional or industry-specific holidays are not guaranteed unless represented in the relevant jurisdiction dataset. ## HTTP Endpoints The Worker can also be used directly over HTTP. ### Check a business day ```text /check?date=2021-12-27&state=NSW ``` ### Add or subtract business days ```text /calculate?date=2021-12-24&state=NSW&days=1 ``` ### Count business days ```text /count?start_date=2021-12-24&end_date=2021-12-29&state=NSW&include_start=false&include_end=true ``` ### Calculate a deadline ```text /deadline?start_date=2021-12-20&state=NSW&days=7&day_type=calendar&include_start=false&roll=next ``` ## Why AU Agent Utilities? AI agents are good at reasoning, but deterministic local rules should not depend on guessing. AU Agent Utilities is being built as a reliable Australian utility layer for agents, with the Business Day Engine as the first module. Future utilities will expand beyond dates into other Australian data, verification and workflow functions. ## Deployment The MCP server is deployed on Cloudflare Workers and is available remotely through the live MCP endpoint above. It is also published through Smithery as: ```text creatorhub121/au-agent-utilities ``` ## Version ```text 1.2.0 ```
