"markdown": "### Installation ###\n```\ngit clone https://github.com/tkersey/dotfiles.git ~/.dotfiles && cd ~/.dotfiles && ./install\n```\n\n### Codex configuration\n\nThe two repository configs are installed as symlinks:\n\n| Repository file | Symlink |\n| --- | --- |\n| `etc/codex/config.toml` | `/etc/codex/config.toml` |\n| `home/codex/config.toml` | `~/.codex/config.toml` |\n\nQuit Codex/ChatGPT and running Codex CLI sessions, preserve any config edits\nthat should be kept, and update your checkout. Then run the existing installer\nas your normal user:\n\n```sh\ncd ~/.dotfiles\n./install --symlink\n```\n\nThe default `./install` includes the same symlink step. The installer requests\n`sudo` only when creating or replacing `/etc/codex/config.toml`. For an existing\nconfig file or old symlink, choose `o` at that destination's overwrite prompt\nto replace it with the new link. Overwrite removes the old file or link; keep\nany needed contents before selecting it. Choose `s` to preserve an existing\nfile instead. The separate config-copying operation is removed.\nThe installer sets the home config's repository target to mode `0600` before\nlinking it, keeping personal settings private.\n\nReopen Codex after installation. Shared defaults live in\n`etc/codex/config.toml`; personal settings and the Developer Docs MCP server\nlive in `home/codex/config.toml`. User values override system defaults.\nBecause the live files link into this checkout, edits and repository updates\nare reflected through those links. Keep the checkout at a revision containing\nboth files.\n",
