Skills scaffold, implement and document custom editing experiences and creative automation for Web, iOS, Android, Flutter and React Native.\n\nGive your AI coding assistant expert-level knowledge of CreativeEditor SDK. Build photo editors, video editors, and design tools by describing what you want.\n\nhttps://github.com/user-attachments/assets/d01073ca-4a6a-49eb-8155-faa25ff04595\n\n## What Are Agent Skills?\n\n[Agent Skills](https://agentskills.io) are portable knowledge packs that plug into AI coding assistants. By installing the CE.SDK plugin, you get:\n\n- **Current documentation**: Skills read the CE.SDK guides on img.ly as Markdown, and bundle the API references and agent rules\n- **Guided code generation**: Build and explain skills that walk through CE.SDK implementation step by step\n- **Autonomous scaffolding**: The build skill creates and verifies complete CE.SDK projects from starter kits\n\nOne plugin, `imgly-sdk`, covers:\n\n- **Web** (React, Vue, Svelte, SvelteKit, Angular, Next.js, Nuxt.js, Vanilla JS, Electron, Node.js)\n- **Swift** (iOS, macOS, Mac Catalyst)\n- **Android** (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose)\n- **Flutter** (Dart; `imgly_editor` and `imgly_camera`; native editor on iOS and Android)\n- **React Native** (TypeScript; `@imgly/editor-react-native` and `@imgly/camera-react-native`; native editor on iOS and Android)\n\n## Available Skills\n\n| Skill | Description |\n|-------|-------------|\n| `docs` | Look up CE.SDK guides and API references for the detected platform and framework |\n| `explain` | Explain how CE.SDK features work — concepts, architecture, workflows |\n| `build` | Implement features and autonomously scaffold complete CE.SDK projects |\n\nEach skill detects the platform and framework from the project and asks when a\nproject is ambiguous. The bundled content lives under each skill's\n`references/` folder, one subfolder per platform and framework. Claude Code\nadditionally receives a thin optional `builder` adapter that delegates to the\nsame shared `build` skill. Codex uses the build skill directly.\n\n## Setup Instructions\n\n### Claude Code Plugin\n\nAdd the marketplace and install the plugin:\n\n```bash\n# Add the marketplace (one-time setup)\nclaude plugin marketplace add imgly/agent-skills\n\n# Install the plugin\nclaude plugin install imgly-sdk@imgly\n```\n\n### Codex Plugin\n\nAdd the same marketplace and install the plugin in Codex:\n\n```bash\n# Add the marketplace (one-time setup)\ncodex plugin marketplace add imgly/agent-skills\n\n# Install the plugin\ncodex plugin add imgly-sdk@imgly\n```\n\n### Installs from before the rename\n\nThe plugin used to be called `cesdk`. In Claude Code, an existing\n`cesdk@imgly` install keeps updating through an alias entry for the same\nplugin. Its skills now show as `/imgly-sdk:docs`, `/imgly-sdk:explain`, and\n`/imgly-sdk:build`. New installs use `imgly-sdk@imgly`.\n\nCodex cannot update a plugin under its old name, so an existing `cesdk@imgly`\ninstall stays on its last version. Replace it:\n\n```bash\ncodex plugin remove cesdk@imgly\ncodex plugin add imgly-sdk@imgly\n```\n\n### Vercel Skills CLI\n\nInstall using the [Vercel Skills CLI](https://github.com/vercel-labs/skills):\n\n```bash\n# Install all three skills for Claude Code\nnpx skills add imgly/agent-skills -a claude-code\n\n# Other agents: change the -a value, e.g. codex or cursor\nnpx skills add imgly/agent-skills -a codex\n\n# Install a single skill\nnpx skills add imgly/agent-skills --skill docs -a claude-code\n\n# List the skills first\nnpx skills add imgly/agent-skills --list\n```\n\nInstall all three skills: `build` and `explain` look up exact APIs in the `docs` skill's `references/` folders.\n\n### Manual Copy\n\nFor any skills-compatible agent, copy skill folders directly from the [GitHub repository](https://github.com/imgly/agent-skills):\n\n```bash\n# Clone the repo\ngit clone https://github.com/imgly/agent-skills.git\n\n# Copy a skill into your agent's skills directory\ncp -r agent-skills/plugins/cesdk/skills/docs <skills-directory>/docs\n```\n\n## Keeping Skills Current\n\nEvery generated skill records its CE.SDK version, generation date, and plugin\nidentifier. When a bundle is over six weeks old, or when you ask about updates,\nthe assistant can compare it with the matching stable, prerelease, or nightly\nIMG.LY channel. This check is read-only.\n\nBefore changing anything, the assistant must identify whether the active skill\ncame from Claude Code, Codex, the Skills CLI, a Git checkout, or a manual copy.\nIt reports unknown or ambiguous installations instead of guessing and requests\nexplicit approval for the exact update command and target.\n\n## Release Channels\n\n| Channel | Branch | Matches engine dist-tag | Marketplace |\n|---------|--------|-------------------------|-------------|\n| Stable | `main` / `latest` | `latest` | `imgly` |\n| Prerelease | `next` | `next` | `imgly-next` |\n| Nightly | `dev` | `dev` | `imgly-dev` |\n\nEach channel has its own marketplace name, so a prerelease or nightly\nmarketplace can be added while the stable one stays registered. The plugin is\n`imgly-sdk` on every channel, so keep only one channel enabled: two enabled\ncopies hide each other's skills. For example, to switch from stable to the\nprerelease:\n\n```bash\n# Claude Code (switch back with: claude plugin enable imgly-sdk@imgly)\nclaude plugin disable imgly-sdk@imgly\nclaude plugin marketplace add imgly/agent-skills@next\nclaude plugin install imgly-sdk@imgly-next\n\n# Codex has no disable command, so remove the stable plugin\ncodex plugin remove imgly-sdk@imgly\ncodex plugin marketplace add imgly/agent-skills@next\ncodex plugin add imgly-sdk@imgly-next\n```\n\nA prerelease or nightly installed before the per-channel names is registered as\nmarketplace `imgly`. Adding the stable marketplace then fails, and Codex stops\nupdating that install. Remove it and add the channel again, for example for\nnightly:\n\n```bash\n# Claude Code\nclaude plugin uninstall cesdk@imgly\nclaude plugin marketplace remove imgly\nclaude plugin marketplace add imgly/agent-skills@dev\nclaude plugin install imgly-sdk@imgly-dev\n\n# Codex\ncodex plugin remove cesdk@imgly\ncodex plugin marketplace remove imgly\ncodex plugin marketplace add imgly/agent-skills@dev\ncodex plugin add imgly-sdk@imgly-dev\n```\n\nPublished versions can also be pinned with an exact `v<version>` Git tag.\nThe bundled update workflow keeps channels separate and never replaces a pinned\nversion without an explicit request and approval.\n\n## Usage\n\nAsk naturally and let your assistant select the right skill. For explicit\nselection, type `/` in Claude Code or `$` in Codex, then choose the matching\nskill from the installed CE.SDK plugin.\n\n```text\nUse the docs skill to look up CE.SDK React configuration.\nUse the build skill to add text overlays to images in my Vue app.\nUse the build skill to create an iOS photo editor.\nUse the docs skill to look up the Kotlin BlockApi.\nUse the build skill to open the CE.SDK editor from my Flutter app.\nUse the docs skill to look up openEditor in React Native.\nUse the explain skill to describe how the block hierarchy works.\n```\n\n## How It Works\n\nThe docs skill routes to the platform and framework folder under\n`skills/docs/references/`. Each folder holds the docs site's page index, the\nAPI references, and agent rules. Skills fetch the guides from\n`https://img.ly/docs/cesdk/` as Markdown, so they need network access.\n\nThe build skill links public starter kit repositories for common use cases like\ndesign editors, video editors, and photo editors, per platform, and bundles\nrunnable examples for the Flutter and React Native wrappers. It detects your project's platform\nand framework and generates code that matches. A wrapper folder links the\nbundled Swift and Android references for everything the wrapper leaves to\nnative code.\n\n## License\n\nMIT, except the wrapper package sources under\n`skills/docs/references/{flutter,react-native}/native-bridge/`. Those are\nIMG.LY SDK sources under the IMG.LY Terms of Service, in the license file\nof each package folder.\n\n---\n\n[Terms of Service](https://img.ly/tos/) · [Privacy Policy](https://img.ly/privacy-policy/) · Support: [img.ly/support](https://img.ly/support)\n",
